Tripura Panchayat Elections 2024: Total of 10,164 nominations Filed, BJP Secures Uncontested Wins in Multiple Blocks

Agartala, July 19: In the Tripura three-tier panchayat elections, a total of 10,164 nominations have been filed. Among them, 8,997 nominations are for the Gram Panchayat, 783 for the Panchayat Samiti, and 384 for the Zilla Parishad.

According to the latest data from the State Election Commission, for the Gram Panchayat elections, the BJP has submitted 6,343 nominations, the CPI(M) 1,437, the Congress 809, Tipra Motha 231, CPI(M-L) 4, CPI 3, CPI(ML) 4, and independent candidates 161 nominations.

Similarly, for the Panchayat Samiti elections, the BJP has submitted 435 nominations, CPI(M) 205, Congress 112, Tipra Motha 17, CPI(M-L) 2, CPI 3, and independent candidates 14 nominations.

For the Zilla Parishad elections, the BJP has submitted 159 nominations, CPI(M) 115, Congress 98, Tipra Motha 3, CPI 1, Amra Bangali 2, and independent candidates 5 nominations.

In addition, in four blocks, the BJP has won the Gram Panchayat elections uncontested. In the Boxanagar, Jolaibari, Nalchar, and Tepania blocks, no other party has submitted nominations.

Moreover, in 11 blocks, the BJP has won the Panchayat Samiti elections uncontested. In the Bamutia, Boxanagar, Charilam, Dukli, Durga Chowmuhani, Jirania, Kalyanpur, Nalchar, Old Agartala, Rajnagar, and Tepania blocks, no other party has submitted nominations.
