Tripura, February 21, 2024: Today, on International Mother Language Day, Tripura observed the occasion with a program organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, the Education Department, and the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission.
The day began with a procession that set off from Agartala Town Hall. Later, at the Martyr’s Altar in Town Hall, participants paid floral tributes to martyrs and witnessed a cultural program.
The program was graced by the presence of dignitaries including the Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, the Honorable Commissioner of the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission, Mr. Arif Mohammad, the Secretary of the Education Department, Rebel Hemendra Kumar, the Director of Education, Mr. NC Sharma, and the Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Mr. Bimbisar Bhattacharya. Guests from both Tripura and Bangladesh also attended the event.
This celebration served as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of preserving and promoting mother languages. The procession and cultural program fostered a sense of unity and cultural exchange among participants.
This event signifies the commitment of the government and cultural institutions to celebrating linguistic diversity and promoting cultural understanding.
