Tripura CM Manik Saha Calls on Engineers to Solve Public Issues

Agartala, June 30: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has called upon engineers to take a proactive role in resolving fundamental issues faced by the public, emphasizing that they are vital representatives of the government. He made these remarks during the inauguration of a voluntary blood donation camp and a felicitation ceremony for meritorious students, organized by the Tripura State Engineers Association at Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel in Agartala on Sunday.

Dr. Saha asserted, “Engineers are the face of the government,” highlighting their crucial role in the state’s development. He noted that many engineers from Tripura are making significant contributions abroad by creating impressive buildings and engaging in innovative projects. He questioned why such achievements should not be replicated within the state and country, asserting that Tripura has no shortage of talent.

The Chief Minister underscored the importance of infrastructure, particularly focusing on roads, drinking water, and electricity, as essential needs for the people. He emphasized that engineers are tasked with the responsibility of implementing these necessities. Dr. Saha assured that the government is committed to supporting developmental work and would not withhold funds for these essential projects. “Our engineers must resolve the basic problems faced by the public,” he stated.

Dr. Saha addressed the common issues faced by residents, such as blocked roads due to poor conditions. He noted that people primarily desire reliable roads, consistent electricity, and access to clean drinking water. He expressed concern over past incidents where people had to protest on the streets for these basic needs and urged engineers to prevent such situations by taking responsibility for ensuring these services.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the current government aims for the overall development of all sections of society. He emphasized that whatever actions are necessary for the state’s development will be undertaken by the government. “The responsibility of ensuring these services falls on the engineers,” he declared, reinforcing the importance of their role in achieving the government’s developmental goals.

In addition to addressing infrastructure issues, Dr. Saha mentioned the state government’s various innovative initiatives aimed at providing purified drinking water to the populace. He highlighted the significance of these projects and urged engineers to work diligently and responsibly to ensure their successful implementation. This call to action aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on efficiency and effective governance.

Dr. Saha’s speech at the event served as a powerful reminder of the critical role engineers play in shaping the state’s future. By urging them to address public issues proactively, he highlighted the broader vision of the government to foster development and improve the quality of life for all citizens. His remarks underscored the administration’s commitment to not only recognizing the talents of local engineers but also harnessing their skills for the betterment of Tripura.

The event, attended by engineers and various dignitaries, marked a significant moment in the ongoing dialogue between the government and the engineering community. It underscored the collaborative effort required to address the state’s developmental challenges and the essential role engineers play in realizing these goals.
