Tension in Hospital after Patient gets ‘Expired’ Drip!

Agartala Nov 06: Tension flared up at Melaghar hospital after a nurse reportedly administered expired saline to a patient since the time of admission.

The patient, identified as Rubi- was admitted at the Melaghar hospital following several physical ailments. But later the family members found that the saline administered to the patient had crossed its expiry date.

“We were tense because the patient was not responding to the treatment. Later, we found that at least 4- 5 saline administered to her on instructions of the doctor on- duty had expired”, alleged one of the family members.

Tension prevailed at the hospital premises as Ruby’s family members demanded action against the doctor on-duty alleging negligence of duty.

The relatives of patients admitted at the Melaghar government hospital urged the state health department to take immediate measures after proper investigation of the matter.
