Agartala, January 14, 2024: In preparation for the grand opening of the Ram Mandir on January 22nd, 2024, a cleanliness drive is underway across India’s temples. Joining the national Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (“Clean India Mission”), the 6th Agartala unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a cleaning program at various temples in the city, including the prominent Indranagar Kali Temple.
Among the distinguished guests present were BJP Tripura Vice-President Papiya Dutta, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, and 6th Agartala Mandal president Hiralal Debnath. Along with other party functionaries, they actively participated in the cleaning efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Dutta emphasized the importance of keeping temples clean not only for the upcoming inauguration but also to maintain a healthy and spiritual environment for devotees. She stressed how the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aligns perfectly with this goal, urging everyone to make cleanliness a part of their daily lives.
The cleaning drive covered both interiors and exteriors of the temples, ensuring a fresh and welcoming atmosphere for worshippers. This initiative reflects the nationwide enthusiasm surrounding the Ram Mandir opening and highlights the commitment of communities like Agartala to maintaining clean and sacred spaces for religious activities.
