Agartala, January 01, 2025: The Winter Session of the state legislative assembly is set to commence on January 10, next and will continue for three days until January 15. The decision was unanimously taken on Wednesday during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) at Agartala, stated Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
Speaking to the press, the minister said that the BAC meeting was held to finalize the schedule for the upcoming Winter Session. As per tradition, the first assembly session of the English calendar year begins with the Governor’s address. Accordingly, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu will deliver his address on the opening day. The Governor’s speech will highlight the work done by the state government over the past year and outline its plans and policies for the upcoming year.
Nath added that the session will also witness the tabling of two bills by the state government. Additionally, the minister hinted at the possibility of introducing another proposal during the session. Looking ahead, Ratan Lal Nath mentioned that the Budget Session for the current year is expected to begin in March. The Winter Session is anticipated to focus on reviewing the state’s progress over the past year and discussing the development roadmap and governance initiatives for the future, Nath added.
