Agartala, Nov 08: Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Wednesday passed an instruction to the officials concerned to implement the projects taken in 2023-24 within this year.
He held a meeting with the Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Special Secretaries and Directors of various departments and reviewed the Special Assistance Capital Schemes at the Secretariat.
The meeting aimed at proper utilization of the budget allocation and ensuring the benefits to the people, the Finance minister said. He also passed necessary instruction for spending the funds released by the central government within the current financial year. The Finance minister also reviewed the status of various externally-aided projects including project for sustainable catchment forest management in Tripura, climate resilience of forest ecosystems, biodiversity and adaptive capacities of forest dependent communities in Tripura, Agartala city urban development project, Tripura Power Generation Up-gradation and Distribution Rehabilitee Improvement project. He also focused on the projects of the state announced in the name of the Chief Minister. The Health secretary said, Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana would be implemented soon.
Principal Secretary of Revenue department Puneet Agarwal, Principal Secretary of Fisheries B.S. Mishra, Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Secretary of Tourism U.K. Chakma, Secretary of Janajati Welfare L.T. Darlong, Secretary of Rural Development Sandeep R. Rathod and Secretary of Education department- Raval Hamendra Kumar were present in the meeting.
Later speaking to the media, the Finance Minister said, the state government’s budgetary allocation for the FY 2023-24 is Rs. 27,654 crore. In this context, he asked the concerned departments to take initiatives for timely implementation of all projects with a focus on Janajati development, Education, Healthcare, Agriculture and Capital investment.
