Jaipur, November 18: In a scathing attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress government in Rajasthan of leading the state into a surge of crimes and riots due to what he referred to as a policy of appeasement. Speaking at a rally in Bharatpur, PM Modi targeted Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, predicting the Congress party’s decline in the upcoming elections.
PM Modi, addressing the crowd, mocked Chief Minister Gehlot as the “jadugar” (magician) and declared that the people had decided not to vote for him. The Prime Minister suggested the Congress party would vanish from the state after the elections, referring to December 3 as “Congress ‘chhoo mantar,'” a play on Gehlot’s background as the son of a professional magician.
Assembly polls in Rajasthan are scheduled for November 25, with the counting of votes set for December 3.
During his speech, PM Modi accused the Congress of making Rajasthan a leader in corruption, riots, and crimes over the past five years. He alleged that the party’s policy of appeasement had given a free hand to criminal elements, leading to a surge in incidents involving terrorists, criminals, and rioters wherever Congress was in power.
The Prime Minister pointed out that Rajasthan, under Congress’ rule, witnessed a concerning increase in crimes against women and Dalits. He cited disruptions during festivals such as Holi, Ram Navami, and Hanuman Jayanti, claiming that incidents like riots, stone pelting, and curfews became recurrent under the Congress government.
PM Modi went on to criticize Chief Minister Gehlot’s comments on women filing fake rape cases, questioning his ability to protect women and suggesting that such a leader did not deserve to remain in office. The Prime Minister concluded by asserting that the Congress had shattered the confidence of women in Rajasthan and urged voters to consider the state’s future in the upcoming elections.
