Kumarghat Hosts 5th State Level ‘Biu Parab’

Kumarghat, Tripura, April 12, 2024: On Friday, Kumarghat is abuzz with the festive spirit as it hosts the 5th State Level “Biu Parab,” a cherished three-day festival of the Barua clan. From April 12th to 14th, the grounds near the Bhavatarni Temple are alive with celebration, tradition, and community pride.

The festival unfolds with “Phool Tulani” on the first day, followed by the main event “Parab Din,” and culminates with “Noa Saal.” The grand opening was marked by Sri Biswajit Das, the honorable chairman of the Kumarghat Municipal Council, lighting the holy candle. Shri. Manu Barua, a respected elder of the Barua clan, graced the ceremony as the chief guest, accompanied by many regional social workers.

Highlights of the fair include the intriguing ‘Bhava Chakra’ (Maze), theatrical performances, ethnic dances, musical recitals, and the soulful Bauddha Kirtan. These attractions are not just for entertainment; they serve a deeper purpose. The “Biu Parab” festival aims to promote the Barua language, culture, and religion, showcase traditional attire, and inspire the community’s youth towards overall development and responsibility.
