Hanuman Jayanti Celebrated Peacefully Across Tripura

Agartala, April 23: In a harmonious display of devotion, the state of Tripura observed Hanuman Jayanti with great fervor and piety. The auspicious occasion, which marks the full moon day of the Chaitra month, saw elaborate celebrations dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the revered deity known for his immense strength and loyalty.

Lord Hanuman, also known as Bajrangbali, is one of the ‘Ashta-Chiranjeevi’—the eight immortals according to Hindu beliefs—and is considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva. He is affectionately referred to by many names, including “Maruti Nandan,” “Anjani Putra,” “Pavan Putra Hanuman,” and “Sankat Mochan,” each reflecting his divine attributes and the belief that he alleviates the sorrows of his devotees.

The city of Agartala witnessed a significant turnout of devotees at the Lakshmi Narayan Bari from the early hours of the day. The celebrations were graced by the presence of dignitaries, including the Governor, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, who participated in the Hanuman Puja at the Katiya Baba College.

Additionally, Mayor Deepak Majumdar was seen attending the festivities at the Sanatani Ekta Manch’s Puja Mandap on Ramnagar Road No. 4.This year’s Hanuman Jayanti coincided with the Vaishakh month and notably fell on a Tuesday, which is traditionally associated with Lord Hanuman. The alignment of the birth anniversary on his favored day added to the auspiciousness of the celebrations.

Across the state, temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman were adorned with flowers and lights, and special prayers were offered to seek his blessings. Devotees engaged in various religious activities, including chanting hymns and distributing prasad, as a mark of their reverence and to seek protection from life’s adversities.
