Teliamura, December 11, 2023: A wave of panic swept through several areas under the Teliamura sub-division as a herd of wild tuskers emerged from the deep forest, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake on Monday. The affected localities, including New Market, North Krishnapur, Amtali, Barolunga, and Balucherra, witnessed the wrath of the elephant rampage, leaving residents distraught.
The recent elephant attacks have resulted in considerable damage, with numerous houses flattened and stored rice destroyed during the rampage. Frustrated and distressed, residents are now seeking government support, expressing dissatisfaction with the perceived lack of response from the forest department.
Narayan Sarkar, a resident of one of the impacted families, voiced his concerns, stating that despite the alarming elephant attack, no support has been extended by the Teliamura subdivision forest department. The affected families, gripped by fear of potential future attacks, are urgently appealing for government assistance to address the aftermath of the recent rampage.
