AAP Launches Public Campaign in Support of CM Arvind Kejriwal Amidst ED Probe

New Delhi, December 31, 2023: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gearing up for a robust public campaign, ‘Main Bhi Kejriwal Jan Samvad,’ scheduled for January 4, 2024, in support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This initiative follows Kejriwal’s anticipated appearance before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 3, related to a money laundering case associated with the Delhi excise policy ‘scam.’

In a bold move, all ministers, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and councillors in Delhi are set to participate in the campaign, which will span across the national capital. This comes on the heels of a previous public outreach program, ‘Main Bhi Kejriwal,’ held from December 1 to 30, seeking public feedback on Kejriwal’s continuation in office if arrested in the liquor policy case.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak emphasized the party’s stance against what they perceive as a conspiracy by the Centre to imprison Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. “We will not allow our Chief Minister to be arrested under any circumstances,” Pathak asserted, highlighting the achievements of Kejriwal’s tenure.

Pathak, who also serves as AAP’s national general secretary (organisation), declared the party’s solidarity, stating that all leaders and workers would willingly go to jail if Kejriwal were arrested. He accused the Modi government of attempting to eliminate AAP and Kejriwal, portraying the summons issued by the ED as part of a broader agenda.

“The BJP wants to break up our party after arresting Kejriwal. I want to tell the BJP that neither we have ever bowed down before nor will we ever do so in the future. Even if all our leaders are put behind bars, we will continue to fight for honesty and truth,” Pathak asserted.

Earlier this month, the ED issued its third summons to Kejriwal, directing him to appear as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged money laundering linked to the now-withdrawn liquor policy. Kejriwal, who had termed the summons as “illegal and politically motivated,” is expected to face the ED after concluding a 10-day Vipassana meditation camp in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur from December 19 to 30. The AAP remains steadfast in its support of Kejriwal, vowing to uphold its commitment to transparency and truth despite the challenges posed by the ongoing investigation.
