Significant Increase in Voter Enrollment as Sonamura Gains 3084 New Voters
Sonamura, January 13, 2024: The Sonamura subdivision has witnessed a notable surge in voter enrollment, with 3084 newly registered voters added following the publication of the final electoral lists on January 5 this year. This development has increased the total number of electors to 185,982 across four assembly constituencies within the subdivision, reflecting a growth rate of 1.69%.
According to the recently released final electoral lists, the gender distribution in the Sonamura subdivision comprises 95,637 male voters and 90,345 female voters. This indicates an increase of 1,582 male voters and 1,502 female voters compared to the previous electoral data.
Prior to the 2023 assembly election in the state, the total number of voters in the subdivision stood at 182,898, with 94,055 being male voters and 88,843 female voters.
Breaking down the numbers in the final electoral lists, 44,146 voters were enrolled under the 20-Boxanagar constituency, 45,328 voters from the 21-Nalchar (SC) constituency, 45,331 from the Sonamura Assembly Constituency, and the remaining 51,177 from the 23-Dhanpur assembly constituency. This distribution provides an overview of the electoral landscape in the Sonamura subdivision as it prepares for future elections.
