Belonia Dec 09: Keeping the crucial Lok Sabha elections at front, Tripura Pradesh Congress is putting serious efforts to strengthen the organization and bring the party workers under one platform.
Pradesh Congress MLA and CWC member Sudip Roy Barman has been travelling across various districts and subdivisions in the state to work towards strengthening the Congress in Tripura.
Saturday, Roy Barman visited Belonia where he presided over a meeting at the South District Congress Bhavan.
Speaking to the reporters, Roy Barman castigated the ruling government over several issues including law and order, unemployment, poverty, and others.
“There is no work, poor are deprived of necessary government facilities, youths are getting associated with drug addiction whereas the state government is boasting of ‘Drug- free Tripura’ and corruption has reached an extreme level”, he alleged.
Talking about the recent increasing activities of the Congress in Tripura, the MLA said, “Congress and its organization is growing stronger with every passing day and in the coming days we will try to reach out to the common people and work towards resolving their problems”.
South District Congress president Mridul Patari, Pradesh Congress Committee member Bholanath Dhar, former minister Manindra Reang, women Congress leader Shampa Dutta, Youth Congress leader Ajitabha Majumder among others remained present at the day’s meeting.
Later, the Congress MLA visited the residence of late journalist Prithish Dutta in Bash Para Colony area and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
