Mysterious Death of Turtle at Kalyan Sagar, Matarbari!

Udaipur, November 14: A turtle was found dead at the western corner of the Kalyan Sagar Lake of Matarbari, Udaipur on Saturday night. Local merchants claimed that they tried to contact the forest department, Matarbari priests, and the administration to have the turtle removed, but no one responded. Eyewitnesses said that the turtle had several injury marks on its shell when it sank into the water. Locals said that the lake’s water has been polluted for a long time, which could be the reason behind the death of the turtle. In the past three months, several other turtles have also died at the Matarbari Kalyan Sagar Lake. Locals also alleged that they tried contacting the District Magistrate regarding the matter but he refused to take their calls.
