Amarpur, November 08: A one-day special training workshop for women from various self-help groups was held at Amarpur, initiated jointly by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation and the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission Project. The event took place at the Office of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Amarpur.
Among the attendees were the Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Amarpur Nagar Panchayat, Dhirapad Debnath, Assistant Engineer of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Subhash Chakma, and Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission Project, Amarpur, CEO Sarmishta Chakraborty and several others. A total of 30 women from different self-help groups under the Amarpur Nagar Panchayat participated in this one-day training workshop. The training was conducted by Barun Das, a research assistant from the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, with a focus on educating women on proper water usage and sanitation practices.
This training workshop aims to empower women from self-help groups with knowledge and skills to promote sustainable water practices and better sanitation in their communities, said Sarmistha Chakraborty.
