Locals Protested Against Police’s Cruelty!

Kalyanpur, November 06: A group of auto drivers on Monday morning staged a protest against the strict police actions by blocking the road at Rajani Sardar Para. Protestors claimed that due to the absence of a permanent auto stand in the area, the auto drivers have to pick up and drop off passengers by stopping their vehicles on the roadside and this usually creates a traffic jam in the area.

Meanwhile, the Police in the area are severely threatening the auto drivers with heavy penalties for stopping the vehicles on the roadside. Upon getting the information, the administrative officials along with the police rushed to the scene.

Deputy Collector, Anjan Das addressed the auto drivers and police personnel, stating that they are not allowed to interfere with traffic flow on the road. Autos should be allowed to pick up passengers along the road in arotational manner. He also added that a permanent stand for autos in the area would be considered within a month.
